The Expanded Electrodeionization Method for Sewage Reclamation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of the chapter is to introduce a new technology using the flow-divided electrodes for sewage reclamation based on redox and concentrating ions. This creative system can be used directly for sewage treatment without the need for costly ion-exchange membranes and other chemical reagents. Under experimental condi‐ tions, the removal percentage of TDS (total dissolved salts) is 83 %and the removal percentage of COD (chemical oxygen demand) is 92 %.

Evaluation of reclamation technologies for wastewater reuse
Reclamation and reuse of wastewater require the use of tools that minimize risks to health and natural ecosystems. There are various types of such tools, among which HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points) and barrier systems are gaining importance. The research reported here aims to determine and evaluate the most efficient combinations of different treatment systems—barriers—for t...
متن کاملIs the Working Principle of Ecological Engineering Being Followed in Wastewater Fed Aquaculture?
There has been a paradigm shift towards reclamation of wastewater from high cost to low cost effective technology for treatment of sewage and resource utilization for economy driven activities.Under appropriate conditions, sewage fed fisheries would reduce the cost of fish production by utilizing the sewage induced natural plankton and become cost effective because of savings through chemical f...
متن کاملSpectroscopic characterization of DOM and the nitrogen removal mechanism during wastewater reclamation plant
The performance of the Sha-he wastewater reclamation plant was evaluated in this study. To remove residual nitrogen after Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic (A2O) treatment, three multistage Anoxic-Oxic (A/O) were added to investigate the nitrogen removal efficiency and its mechanism. In addition, the constituents and evolution of dissolved organic matter (DOM) during wastewater reclamation was also investi...
متن کاملEvolution of phosphorus complexation and mineralogy during (hydro)thermal treatments of activated and anaerobically digested sludge: Insights from sequential extraction and P K-edge XANES.
(Hydro)thermal treatments of sewage sludge is a promising option that can simultaneously target safe waste disposal, energy recovery, and nutrient recovery/recycling. The speciation of phosphorus (P) in sludge is of great relevance to P reclamation/recycling and soil application of sludge-derived products, thus it is critical to understand the effects of different treatment techniques and condi...
متن کاملSpeciation Dynamics of Phosphorus during (Hydro)Thermal Treatments of Sewage Sludge.
(Hydro)thermal treatments of sewage sludge from wastewater treatment process can significantly reduce waste volume and transform sludge into valuable products such as pyrochar and hydrochar. Given the global concern with phosphorus (P) resource depletion, P recycling/reclamation from or direct soil application of the derived chars can be potential P recycling practices. In order to evaluate P r...
